Energy Storage Poised for Explosive Growth, High Expectations for 2025
(MoneyDJ News 2025-01-20 Reporter Chiu Chien-lin Report)
RiTWIN (7816), an energy storage system and lithium battery module manufacturer under the Ritek (2349) Group, with Ritek (8104) as its parent company, has a sales ratio of 3:1 for exports to domestic sales. CEO Ye Cheng-en (pictured left) expressed "very high expectations" for 2025, anticipating significant growth across small, medium, and large-scale segments, with the largest driver being the explosive growth in energy storage.
RiTWIN was established in September 2019. Ye Cheng-en noted that shipments began in 2020, and overall shipments grew exponentially from 2021 to 2024, particularly with explosive growth in energy storage. This year, due to increased orders for energy storage operation and maintenance, as well as system and cabinet orders—with cabinet orders even doubling—the outlook for energy storage is highly optimistic.
RiTWIN started with UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems. Ye Cheng-en pointed out that while demand fluctuated in the interim, it appears to be rebounding this year.
Ye Cheng-en highlighted that the most stable segments include consumer, industrial control, and medical markets, which are all very steady. The company is actively seeking new customers and securing new orders. Following the acquisition of Dazhen Energy in 2022, the company has continuously received many new orders, all of which are ODM/OEM projects with a development cycle of one to two years. Significant growth is anticipated this year or in 2026.
Ritek stated that the group has been involved in the energy market for nearly 20 years, from R&D in thin-film solar modules to the manufacturing and system installation of silicon solar modules, and has invested in Houju Energy, which currently operates 70MW of solar power plants. This history has laid a deep foundation for Ritek in the energy sector, making the group aware that energy storage is the crucial missing piece for realizing new energy goals.
With the rise of AI and Battery Backup Unit (BBU) applications, RiTWIN is actively expanding its technical and market experience in the UPS and energy storage system fields. As a small UPS integrated within server racks, BBU has specific requirements for battery cells and demands higher standards for safety and stability. Ye Cheng-en stated that the energy storage industry has extremely high requirements for quality stability and safety. The RiTWIN team has undergone multiple technical iterations and tests to ensure that its products can successfully meet the stringent fire and explosion-proof requirements of customers worldwide—an achievement the company is proud of.
Furthermore, RiTWIN noted that in fields such as semiconductors, servers, and transportation applications, the demands of international customers are highly customized and technically challenging. Leveraging its precision manufacturing capabilities, the company has successfully passed multiple international certifications, which not only enhances product credibility but also further solidifies its excellent reputation in the industry.
