RiTWIN to Ship to Japan Energy Storage Projects in Q4
(June 30, 2025, Commercial Times, Reported by Yuan Hao-ting)
RiTWIN (7816), the energy storage system and battery module manufacturer under the Ritek (2349) Group, has seen its cumulative revenue surge by 56.58% in the first five months of this year, benefiting from energy storage projects entering their construction phase. The third quarter is expected to remain a peak period for project revenue recognition, coupled with the resumption of shipments for previously deferred battery module orders, ensuring strong operational growth momentum. RiTWIN has also made progress in Japan's energy storage market through partnerships, with shipments expected to commence in the fourth quarter of this year.
The energy storage project in cooperation with RiTdisplay and Tai Powerway entered its construction phase, driving a revenue jump starting in March. For three consecutive months, revenue has remained above NT$300 million, with cumulative consolidated revenue for the first five months reaching NT$1.274 billion, an annual increase of 56.58%. RiTWIN stated that the construction period for the energy storage project is approximately six months, with the second and third quarters entering the peak for revenue recognition. Revenue growth is promising, and as the revenue scale expands, profitability will continue to improve.
Furthermore, battery module shipments to the United States were previously slowed down in April and May due to US countervailing duties, causing customers to temporarily defer receiving goods. RiTWIN stated that customers have not reduced their orders and that normal shipments resumed in June. Deferred orders will be shipped in the second half of the year, ensuring stable growth in battery module-related performance this year.
However, the significant appreciation of the New Taiwan Dollar in the second quarter, while not affecting project construction revenue and even helping to reduce material costs for imported components, thus boosting gross margins, still presents a challenge. The battery module business of Darfon is export-oriented and priced in US dollars. Although the two major businesses can offset some of the impact of the NTD appreciation, there will still be some effect on overall profit.
RiTWIN stated that the company continues to research and develop core technologies, including the modular design of the BMS (Battery Management System) for lithium battery modules, the integrated development of modular energy storage cabinets (Cube), and the establishment of a cloud-based intelligent monitoring system, thereby enhancing its technological capabilities. The company also continues to expand its global brand and channels, actively developing diverse energy storage scenarios such as power services, communication backup systems, and charging station applications. By leveraging strategic partner resources, it is expanding its overseas deployment. Currently, it has secured a Japanese project with partners, with shipments expected to start as early as the fourth quarter. Additionally, other new projects in Taiwan are under negotiation, all of which are expected to contribute to operational growth momentum next year.
Regarding UPS products, RiTWIN reports stable shipments to existing customers in the semiconductor and communication industries, with UPS shipments for traffic signal applications growing year by year, having successful delivery records in all six major municipalities. Operations next year are expected to be robust. The company has also successfully introduced multiple energy storage products to EV charging stations, integrated solar-storage sites, and new containerized energy storage systems.
